Thorough anamnestic exploration including pathomechanic explanation for the cause of injury are discussed and presented as bases for the early detection of combined injuries, complications occuring posttraumatically, and for the objectivation of neurological disturbances independent of the injury and their relation to neurological consequences of injury. The differential exploration of early clinicalneurological findings and the careful documentation of further clinical complications are required of the evaluating neurologist, not lastly in order to spare the patient the possible traumatic delay of pension payments.
